  1. Box, a surgeon, living at Twickenham House in the 1840s was also chief medical consultant to the workhouse in the 1840s. He was conducting anatomical research on human bodies and burying them around my cottage – the remains of two were found 30 years ago.


  2. gc…. That’s not all: there are shards of prehistoric pottery, an iron age ditch, a two storied Roman building, a Mediaeval tannery …. my living room was a fowlhouse and y entrance room a wash-house

    1. trying too sort out the iron age ditch and how it relates to abingdon’s iron age oppidum embankment. the dead and the living are always right next to one another – all that separates us is time… and that is actually a very complex and dubious concept
